Rising to the Challenge
A perfect example of the scope of our expertise is the design and installation for Prairie School's Johnson Athletic Center in Racine. The work incorporated two standing-seam copper barrel roof systems along with a SBS-modified bitumen membrane roof system and a fully adhered EPDM roof system. The project was recognized with a National Roofing Contractor Association Gold Circle Award for Outstanding Workmanship/Low Slope.
Because of the complicated design, we were actually asked to assist with architectural plans and application techniques during the project's design phase. We installed a standing-seam copper metal roof system with a double-hem lock seam on the intersecting barrel roofs, and the two additional roofing systems on the areas between the two barrel roofs. Upon completion, Carlson had covered the roof and fascias with over 38 tons of 16-ounce copper.
